As summer bids us farewell and the days grow shorter, there's something undeniably magical about the arrival of autumn. The air turns crisp, leaves transform into a vibrant tapestry of reds and golds, and the scent of pumpkin spice fills the air. Fall is a season of coziness, reflection, and embracing the simple pleasures of life. Here are my top ten picks for making the most of this enchanting time of year.

  1. Outdoor Adventures: Autumn is synonymous with breathtaking foliage. Plan a day trip to immerse yourself in the splendour of nature's vibrant colours. Whether you hike through a nearby forest or take a scenic drive through the countryside, witnessing the changing leaves is a must in my house. Don't forget to pack snacks and water! This tumbler is on my wish list!

  2. Cozy Sweater Weather: Fall fashion is all about embracing layers, scarves, and cozy sweaters. It's the perfect time to revisit your wardrobe and snuggle up in your favourite knitwear. Check out this one!

  3. Spice Up Your Kitchen: The scent of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves wafting through the kitchen is one of fall's greatest joys. Bake apple pies, brew spiced tea, or whip up some hearty stews to savour the season's flavours. Think of all the yummy dishes you could make with this!

  4. Family Game Night: Gather around the table for a family game night with board games and card games. This on is my all time fave! and this! and this!
  5. Ring the Alarm: As the days get shorter in fall and winter so to comes dark mornings. If you are like me and getting out of bed when it is still dark outside is a challenge. Try this sunrise alarm clock. It is a game changer.

  6. Outdoor Movie Night: This is actually the best and one of my favourite family traditions! We have this projector and this fire stick. We wait till dark and cozy up with hot chocolate and make s'mores around the fire.

  7. Bookworm Delight: With shorter days and cooler evenings, fall is perfect for diving into a good book. Create a cozy reading nook with blankets and pillows and let the stories transport you. A couple of my self-development faves are Think and Grow Rich and Life Changing Conversations. And then my fiction faves.

  8. Gratitude Practice: As Thanksgiving approaches, take time to reflect on your blessings. Start a gratitude journal to record the things you're thankful for and cultivate an attitude of appreciation. I now use a blank notebook but this is the one that got me started!

  9.  Relax!: Take time to do yoga, meditate or relax in a bubble bath. This year I made a big purchase to help with stretching, book reading, journalling, meditating etc. and bought this lounger. It sits in front of the window in my bedroom over looking the park and pond.
  10. Fall Themed Photoshoot: Dress up in your favourite fall outfits and have a photoshoot at a scenic location to capture precious family moments. I do all my own family portraits with the help of this handy dandy tripod with clicker.

Fall is a season that encourages us to slow down, savour the moment, and appreciate the beauty in simplicity. Whether you're sipping on a pumpkin spice latte, crunching leaves underfoot, or enjoying the company of loved ones, there's no shortage of ways to relish the joys of autumn.
